Malootty

Malootty is a 1992 Indian Malayalam-language drama film directed by Bharathan, starring Jayaram, Urvashi and Shamili. The story is set in the 1980s, where a girl is trapped in a drill hole; she survives after many hours. The title drawings were done by Bharathan's son. Shamili won the Kerala State Film Award for Best Child Artist.[1] The movie was based on 1989 American television film Everybody's Baby: The Rescue of Jessica McClure.[2]

Plot

Five-year-old Malooty is the only daughter of Raji and Unnikrishnan, who is on her vacation with her parents. Events take a tragic turn when Malooty visits a vacation home and while playing ball with her dog, suddenly falls into a hole and becomes stuck inside. Her father struggles to save his daughter. It takes a few hours to save her.
