Maidenwell, Queensland
Maidenwell is a rural town and a locality in the South Burnett Region, Queensland, Australia.[1][2]

History
Pioneer settler John King dug the first well in the district, hence the name Maidenwell.[1]
Maidenwell Post Office opened in 1906 (a receiving office named Pinpinbugie had been open from 1900) and closed in 1978.[3]
The Maidenwell Community Library opened in 2000.[4]
At the 2011 Australian Census the town recorded a population of 458.[5]

- Maidenwell-Cooyar Road: former King's Boarding House[6]
Tourism
Coomba Falls is located about 2 kilometres east of the town. There is a deep cold pool at the base of the falls surrounded by granite cliffs. It is a popular tourist spot for picnicking, swimming, birdwatching and photography.[7]
Facilities
The Maidenwell branch of the Queensland Country Women's Association meets at the CWA Hall in Pool Street.[8] The South Burnett Regional Council operates a library at the CWA Hall.[9]
