Maddy Proud

Maddy Proud (born 4 December 1993) is an Australian netball player in the Suncorp Super Netball league, playing for the New South Wales Swifts.

Proud grew up in Adelaide and was signed by the Adelaide Thunderbirds in 2011 at only 16 years of age.[2] She would go on to play 44 games for the Thunderbirds and feature in the Southern Force premiership in the Australian Netball League in 2012.[1] Proud switched to the New South Wales Swifts ahead of the 2017 Suncorp Super Netball season, the inaugural season of the new competition and won the club's season MVP award that year.[1] Proud has remained at the Swifts since then and is also a children's author, having released a book chronicling the life of a 13-year-old netballer in her first year at high school in January 2018.[3] In February 2019 she was appointed captain of the Swifts.[4]

She represented Australia in the 2018 Fast5 Netball World Series.[5]
