A female delegate, Nizoramo Zaripova, was briefly the Acting Chairperson of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of Tadzikistan during January–February 1984. She spoke to Indonesian women about the advances made by Soviet women in positions of government, in the workforce, in education, industry, agriculture etc.
