List of international cricket centuries by Colin Cowdrey

Colin Cowdrey was an English cricketer. A right-handed batsman,[1] he played for England between 1954 and 1975, including captaining them for 27 matches between 1959 and 1969,[2] and made 22 centuries in international cricket, all in Tests. As of March 2019 he sits joint sixtieth in the list of century-makers in international cricket.[lower-alpha 1][3]

Cowdrey made his Test debut against Australia at the Brisbane Cricket Ground, Brisbane on 26 November 1954.[4] He scored his first Test century against the same opposition in the third Test of the same series at the Melbourne Cricket Ground, Melbourne on 31 December 1954, scoring 102.[5] He scored his final Test century against Pakistan at the Lahore Stadium, Lahore on 21 February 1969, scoring 100,[6] and his final Test match was against Australia at the Melbourne Cricket Ground, Melbourne on 8 February 1975,[7] having played 114 matches, and also held the record for the most runs in Test cricket at the time, with 7,459 runs, which was then subsequently passed by Garfield Sobers. His highest score in Tests is 182, scored against Pakistan at The Oval, London on 16 August 1962.[8]

Cowdrey's only One Day International (ODI) appearance came against Australia in the inaugural One Day International at the Melbourne Cricket Ground, Melbourne on 5 January 1971, in which he scored 1 run.[9]
