Carry on Jatta 2 (2018) is the highest-grossing Punjabi film of all time since June 2018. Worldwide collections of the film are est. ₹57 crore which involves ₹40 crore in India and ₹17 crore at overseas. Most of the films which are in the list are romantic comedy or comedy films. Nikka Zaildar and Bambukat fame Ammy Virk in an interview said, "You can't experiment much. If you make an experimental film in Punjab, then I don't think it will work right now as the market is not that big. If the market grows, then more type of genres like action and suspense can also do well."[5][6] On this chart, films are ranked by the revenues from theatrical exhibition at their nominal value, along with the highest positions they attained. Twenty-one films in total have grossed in excess of ₹20 crore worldwide, of which only two have grossed over ₹50 crore, with Carry on Jatta 2 ranked in the top position.[3]
