Line S3 (Chengdu Metro)

Line S3 of the Chengdu Metro, (simplified Chinese: 成都地铁S3号线; traditional Chinese: 成都地鐵S3號線) is also known as Ziyang Line. It is an approved express inter-city train line in Chengdu. The line is 39.71 km long and connects Chengdu Tianfu International Airport airport town area to Ziyang.[4][5] The subway line will use 160 km/h Type-A trains operating. The investment is 14.93 billion CNY. Ziyang Line will have both underground and ground level sections. It also passes through Tuo River between 1st Tuo River Bridge and 3rd Tuo River Bridge.[6]

Ziyang Line connects Futian Station (transfer to Line 18), and enters hilly regions. Lvjiazu Station can transfer to Line 13. 然后线路向东南穿过成都与资阳间的浅丘地带,进入资阳市临空经济区后沿成资大道敷设,并于规划路口设临空经济区站接车辆段;出站后线路跨过成渝高速进入资阳市,then Ziyang Line goes underground. It passes through 幸福大道-仁德西路-南骏大道-滨江大道-宝台大道-蜀乡大道 underground and 在娇子大道口设置娇子大道站(地下), 苌弘广场前设置苌弘广场站(地下), after it passes Tuo River and goes into Tuodong New Area, 后沿宝台大道—蜀乡大道地下敷设, 于宝台大道与迎宾大道交叉口处设宝台大道站(地下). The line ends with Ziyang North Railway Station at Ziyang's High Speed Rail Station. The line is designed to use Type-A trains operating at 160 km/h.[7][8]

Total investment for the line is 14.93 billion CNY.[8] 40% is paid by Chengdu; relocation fee in Ziyang is paid by Ziyang Government; 54.1% left is mortgage from bank. This project takes 50 months, marking the opening date at 2024.[9]

This subway line uses Type-A Trains operating at 160 km/h speed and powered by 25kV AC overhead lines. The whole line will use 4-car Trains in opening and foreseeable future, with 11 Trains (44 Cars) planning to be purchased[11].
