Lake Fire (2020)

The Lake Fire is an active wildfire of the 2020 California wildfire season in the Angeles National Forest, west of the rural community of Lake Hughes and north of Castaic Lake in Los Angeles County, California in the United States. The fire began in the afternoon hours of Wednesday, August 12, in the unincorporated canyons north of the Santa Clarita Valley and immediately exploded in size, burning some 10,000 acres (4,000 ha) in its first three hours due to extreme fire conditions in the area.[2] The wildfire resulted in the evacuations of Lake Hughes as well as many other isolated households along Pine Canyon Road and 3 Points Road, south of Highway 138.[3]
