Geography

The village lies southeast of Roudnice nad Labem and is 268 metres above sea level. It is located in the Elbe lowlands at the foot of Říp.[2]

History

The first written document on the existence of the village dates back to 1226, when Matěj and Václav Nemoj from the Vršovci family gave the land to the monastery in Doksany. However, it was removed from Doksany by King Sigismund in order to assign it as a pledge to the Lords of Rous of Svinov. At the end of the 16th century it was purchased by William of Rosenberg.[1]
