KTNW

KTNW, virtual channel 31 (UHF digital channel 22), is a Public Broadcasting Service (PBS) member television station licensed to Richland, Washington, United States, serving the eastern portion of the Yakima/Tri-Cities market. The station is owned by Washington State University. KTNW's studios are located on the WSU Tri-Cities campus in Richland, and its transmitter is located on Jump Off Joe Butte. Master control and most internal operations are based at the studios of sister station KWSU-TV (channel 10) in the Murrow Communications Center on WSU's main campus in Pullman.

History

KTNW made its debut on October 18, 1987. Prior to 1987, channel 31 was KTRX-TV, based in Kennewick, Washington, which was on the air briefly in the late-1950s.

KTNW has been digital-only since February 17, 2009.
