Hispaniasaurus

Hispaniasaurus is a genus of extinct marine reptiles with nothosauroid affinities. It lived during the middle Triassic in Spain.

Discovery and naming

The holotype specimen, part of a cranium was found in the Cañete Formation in Spain. The type species, Hispaniasaurus cranioelongatus,[1] was named in 2017 by Ana Marquez-Aliaga, Nicole Klein, Matías Reolid, Pablo Plasencia, José A. Villena and Carlos Martinez-Perez.
