Recognition

The gameplay and mechanics of Hidden Voices resemble the original I Can See Your Voice but under the self-invented versus format,[23] which made the spin-off program recognized as part of ICSYV franchise, and later it would implement to existing ICSYV counterparts.[24]

Gameplay

Format

The guest artist(s) must attempt to guess mystery singers who are "good" and "bad" without hearing them sing. Mystery singers must partake on every round, at which they can receive help and advice from the celebrity panelists.

After eliminating one to two mystery singers in each round, they would perform using real voice at the stage of truth. The last mystery singer standing will do duet-perform by guest artist(s).

Under the versus format, there are different elimination twists:

  • Both guest artists can eliminate one mystery singer each in the first two rounds, and then both can choose one mystery singer each to duet-perform with in the third round.[VN 1][VN 2][VN 3][VN 4]
  • Both guest artists can save one mystery singer each as a reserve with in the first round, and then the guest artist have the most correctly predicted a bad singer can freely to retain a reserve, or to switch mystery singer to duet-perform with in the third round.[VN 5]

The winning condition implies to each mystery singer chosen by guest artist that has been duet-performed separately, if:

  • One guest artist had chosen a "good singer" and another one had chosen a "bad singer"; or
  • Both two guest artists had chosen a "good singer" or a "bad singer".
Rewards
  • For the eliminated mystery singers:
A consolation prize worth ₫2,000,000 is given to the eliminated good singer.[VN 5][25]
  • For the winning mystery singers:
The guest artist(s) gets ₫50,000,000 (if one of them is a good singer); or ₫25,000,000 each (if both two of them are good singers). Both winning mystery singers also get ₫10,000,000 each.[VN 1][VN 2][VN 3][VN 4][VN 5][26]

Rounds

There were seven individuals of mystery singers standing on the platform with its aliases to keep their identities concealed until its initial performance.[27]

Singer's visual
  • The guest artist(s) have time to observe and examine each mystery singer based on their appearance. After this, a muted video of each mystery singer that reveals only 0.3 seconds of their singing voice is played as an additional hint.[VN 1][VN 2][VN 3][VN 4][VN 5]
Singer's lip-sync
  • Every mystery singer performs a lip-sync of a song. Good singers lip-sync to their own voice, while bad singers lip-sync to other's voices.[VN 1][VN 2][VN 3][VN 4][VN 5]
Singer's verdict
  • The guest artist(s) must have then 30 seconds to make an interview with the remaining mystery singers before making the final decision, at which point is depending on every panelists' opinion and/or an audience's majority voting.[VN 1][VN 3][VN 4][VN 5]
Singer's talent
  • The guest artist(s) must 'predict' three remaining mystery singers based on other talents, except "singing" itself. It is unrelated to the stage of truth, but it depends on their identity.[VN 2]
