History

Herkimer was named after Herkimer, New York.[2] A post office was opened in Herkimer in 1878, and remained in operation until it was discontinued in 1974.[3]

gollark: I'm not saying they shouldn't do it, just that it's probably not something I would want to use, for any vaguely important information.
gollark: Since Cloudflare is MitMing it, it is *not* protected/CF can see it, which is bad.
gollark: Well, if you had HTTPS direct to the server, then that would protect the information in question.
