Green Line - Karachi Metrobus

The Green Line (Urdu: گرین لائن) is a bus rapid transit line under construction in Karachi, Sindh, Pakistan.[1] The 35 km (21.7 mi) busway is the first phase of the Karachi Metrobus network.[2][3]

Route

The Green Line will extend from Karachi City railway station to Surjani Town. The route will take the green line from:

  • Railway Road
  • Moulvi Tamizuddin Road
  • M.A Jinnah Road
  • Business Recorder Road
  • Nawab Siddique Ali Khan Road
  • Shahrah-e-Sher Shah Suri
  • Shahrah-e-Usma
  • Khawaja Shamsuddin Azeemi Road

Financing & construction

The Government of Pakistan is financing the majority of the project.[4] Construction of the Green Line began on 26 February 2016. The line will have 37 bus stations when completed.[5] Engineering Associates were contracted as the designers and supervision consultants for Green Line while Think Transportation was contracted as urban engineering consultants.[6][7][8]
