Govejk

Govejk (pronounced [ɡɔˈʋeːi̯k], in order sources Govejek in Srnjek,[2] German: Goweck und Sernak[2]) is a small village in the Municipality of Idrija[3] in the traditional Inner Carniola region of Slovenia.[2] It lies on the road from Idrija to Žiri.

Name

The name of the settlement was changed from Govejek to Govejk in 1980.[4] The older name Govejek in Srnjek 'Govejek and Srnjek' referred to the hamlet of Srnjak, today part of the neighboring village of Ledinske Krnice.
