Ex-Arm
Ex-Arm (Japanese: エクスアーム, Hepburn: Ekusuāmu, stylized as EX-ARM) is a Japanese science fiction manga series written by HiRock and illustrated by Shinya Komi. The series is a remake of Komi's earlier manga Ex-Vita. It began serialization in Shueisha's seinen manga magazine Grand Jump in February 2015, and it moved online to Shueisha's Shōnen Jump+ website in December 2017, and finished in June 2019. Fourteen tankōbon volumes have been published as of August 2019.

Plot
In 2014, Akira Natsume seems to almost have a phobia of electrical devices while also being very good at diagnosing them. He resolves to change himself for the better and get a girlfriend like his older brother did. But then, Akira suddenly dies in an accident. 16 years later a special policewoman and her android partner retrieve and activate a highly advanced AI and superweapon called EX-ARM and put it into full control of their ship as a last resort. Turns out the AI is actually just Akira's brain!

Ex-Arm is written by HiRock and illustrated by Shinya Komi. A first series, written and illustrated by Shinya Komi, titled Ex-Vita, was published in Shueisha's Miracle Jump no. 6, on December 13, 2011.[4] It ended in Miracle Jump no. 14, published on April 30, 2013.[5] Shueisha compiled its individual chapters into two tankōbon volumes, published on August 17, 2012 and June 19, 2013.[6][7] Ex-Arm premiered in the 2015 6th issue of Shueisha's seinen manga magazine Grand Jump, published on February 18, 2015.[8][9] The manga ran in the magazine until its 2018 1st issue, published on December 6, 2017,[10][11] and the series was transferred to Shōnen Jump+ website and app, starting publishing on December 20 of the same year.[12] The series finished on June 26, 2019.[10] Shueisha compiled its individual chapters into fourteen tankōbon volumes, released from June 19, 2015 to August 19, 2019.[13][14]
A sequel series titled Ex-Arm EXA began in Grand Jump Mucha on August 28, 2019.[10][15]

Novel
A novel titled EX-ARM the Novel Deus Ex Machina, written by Atarō Kumo, was published by Shueisha under its Jump J-Books imprint on December 19, 2018.[28] A manga adaptation of the novel, titled Ex-Arm Another Code, began in Ultra Jump on February 19, 2020.[29][30][31]
Anime
An anime television series adaptation was announced on the release of the manga's 12th volume on December 18, 2018.[32] Originally set for a July 2020 release,[33][34] the series is scheduled for a fall 2020 or further release instead due the COVID-19 pandemic.[35]
