Innocent (manga)
Innocent (イノサン, Inosan) is a Japanese seinen manga series written and illustrated by Shinichi Sakamoto. It has been published by Shueisha in Weekly Young Jump magazine from January 2013 to April 2015. It has been compiled into nine volumes. A sequel, Innocent Rouge, was serialized in Grand Jump from May 2015 to January 2020. Innocent's story follows the Sanson family of executioners in France before the French Revolution, and centers around siblings Charles-Henri Sanson and Marie-Joseph Sanson.

Publication
Shinichi Sakamoto started Innocent in the 9th issue of Weekly Young Jump released on January 31, 2013,[4][5] and was published in the magazine until April 16, 2015,[6][7] then the manga was switched to Grand Jump, starting publishing in its 12th issue, published on May 20, 2015, and changed its title to Innocent Rouge.[8] In November 2019, it was announced that Innocent Rouge would be finished in four chapters.[9] The series finished on January 8, 2020.[10]

Reception
It was one of the Jury Selections of the Manga Division at the 17th Japan Media Arts Festival Awards.[32] It was nominated for the 18th Tezuka Osamu Cultural Prize Reader Award.[2] It is also nominated for the 8th Manga Taishō.[33]
