Dev DD is about a modern young woman trying her best to break stereotypes about how an Indian female is supposed to be.
All eleven episodes of the series has been available for streaming on the ALT Balaji App and its associated websites since the release date.
Plot
Dev DD is like a modernised version of Devdas where feminism, sexism, homophobia and a lot of other things society refuses to speak about are stressed upon. It revolves around Vicky, the type of girl society usually frowns upon. She smokes, drinks, admits how much she loves sex and a feminist at heart. She is the kind of girl who men and some regressive women usually label as a slut or characterless. But she is her father’s pride and he loves his daughter the way she is. Vicky meets Paro aka Parth, whom she falls in love with and gets heartbroken, obviously.

Reception
Bollywoodlife reviewed the show as "Dev DD is like a modernised version of Devdas where feminism, sexism, homophobia and a lot of other things society refuses to speak about are stressed upon. It’s a very interesting version of Devdas where Asheema, who plays the role of Vicky, is the Devdas. Akhil Kapur plays Paro aka Parth and Sanjay Suri is Chandramukhi. It’s one of those shows that you will prefer binge-watching instead of waiting for episodes to air weekly. It is a must watch for all you youngsters and parents trying to understand their kids."[3]
India Today reviewed "Dev DD has a good set of actors—Aasheema Vardhan, Akhil Kapur, Sanjay Suri, Suneel Sinha; it is different from Ekta Kapoor's other shows, and it 'looks' pretty good. But It tries too hard to present a heroine that doesn't care about what people think of her, so she dresses as it pleases her, abuses soundly, and unabashedly, and at one point during an episode, she especially makes it known to a shopkeeper who is trying to hand her cover for a packet of sanitary pads that she doesn't need to hide something from the world which anyway the world knows about in the first place.[4]
