In recent years, Dengkil has benefited from the growth of Putrajaya, the federal district city which is located nearby.
Dengkil has many beautiful villages such as Kampung Sungai Buah, Kampung Abu Bakar Baginda, Sungai Merab, and Jenderam Hilir. Dengkil's strategic location attracts many residents.
Dengkil is based on the original name, "Dingkil".
