Dafahat is a census town in Suti II CD Block in Jangipur subdivision of Murshidabad district in the state of West Bengal, India.

Demographics

As per the 2011 Census of India, Dafahat had a total population of 15,688, of which 7,817 (50%) were males and 7,871 (50%) were females. Population below 6 years was 3,185. The total number of literates in Dafahat was 7,382 (59.04% of the population over 6 years). [3]

As of 2001 India census,[4] Dafahat had a population of 11,323. Males constitute 50% of the population and females 50%. Dafahat has an average literacy rate of 36%, lower than the national average of 59.5%: male literacy is 44% and female literacy is 27%. In Dafahat, 22% of the population is under 6 years of age.

gollark: The current system, whatever you label it, works fairly well. There are definitely problems. So many problems. Also lots of room for significant improvements without getting rid of it all. But it works decently well without requiring everyone to magically get along fine and the world is steadily increasing in prosperity.
