Charmouth Mudstone Formation

The Charmouth Mudstone Formation is a geological formation in England. It preserves fossils dating back to the early part of the Jurassic period (Sinemurian–Pliensbachian).[1] It is famous for its ammonite fossils that come out of the cliffs near Lyme Regis and Charmouth. It is also notable for dinosaur remains including those of the dinosaur Scelidosaurus and indeterminate theropods.
