From its original location in a villa in Gorordo Avenue, Cebu, the school moved to Banilad, (opposite Cebu Country Club), and then, in 2000, relocated to the present purpose-built campus the northern suburb of Pit-os, Cebu City.

In the 2007/8 School Year, CIS attained full international accreditation status through the Council of International Schools (CIS),[1] the Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC);[2] as well as being authorized and recognized by the Philippine Accrediting Association of Schools, Colleges and Universities (PAASCU) and the Department of Education (DepEd) within the Philippines. CIS is also a full member of the East Asia Regional Council of Overseas Schools (EARCOS).

Cebu International School is an authorized IB World School,[3] offering the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (IBDP) from 1999, and the IB Primary Years Programme (PYP) from January 2014.

Cebu International School hosted a joint re-accreditation/re-authorization visit by CIS, WASC and the IB in September 2017. As the only internationally accredited and IB-authorized school in the Philippines South of Manila, CIS provides a valuable educational opportunity for local and expatriate families in the Visayas and Mindanao regions of the Philippines, who desire a world-class education, to prepare their children for acceptances into universities around the world.

gollark: That's... actually the size of my entire ebook library?
gollark: I'm comparing it, since it's very large for books.
gollark: That's, what, 140 minutes of low-quality video?
gollark: 1.4 gigabytes? How *long* is it?!
gollark: <@!336962240848855040> It's *not* a closed system because of economic growth. That also means that stuff generally tends to trend up (in the long term).
