Carovigno
Carovigno (Carovignese: Carvìgni; Latin: Carbina) is a town and comune in the province of Brindisi and region of Apulia, in southern Italy. The country around, in the Upper Salento, is renowned for the production of high quality olive oil.

Physical and political geography
Carovigno is on the northern part of Salento.
It is 161 metres (528 feet) above sea level, 7 kilometres (4 miles) from the Adriatic and 30 kilometres (19 mi) from Brindisi.
Nearest towns are Ostuni, 5 kilometres (3 mi) away, San Vito dei Normanni at 6 kilometres (4 mi) and San Michele Salentino at 10 kilometres (6 mi).
Main sights
- The Dentice di Frasso Castle which dominates the old town. It was built in the 14th-15th century.
- Castle of Serranova
- Santa Sabina Tower and Guaceto Tower, two coastal watchtowers built in the 16th century
- Home of the renowned Cavaliere della Repubblica Teodosio Iaia, who is also the author of the book "Vi racconto una storia"
