History and broadcasting

The station received approval from the CRTC to operate on the FM frequency at 95.9 FM on May 18, 2012 and began broadcasting on May 6, 2013 at 9:59 am with the station's first song Raise Your Glass by Pink.[1]

The station was originally proposed to have been carrying a country music format, but switched to hot AC prior to the station's launch, following the change of formats at competing station CFAN-FM from adult contemporary to country.

Since the launch, the station has changed its format to Adult Hits in response to listener demand.

On-air

The station airs Mornings with Darcey (hosted by Darcey McLaughlin) Monday to Friday from 6-10 am. The Drive with Dave (hosted by Dave Lawrence) airs from 2-6pm Monday to Friday. From 12-1 pm, the station airs The 90s At Noon, an un-hosted hour of music from the 1990s.

On Thursday, Throwback Thursday airs from 5-5:30 pm, featuring classic rap, dance and hip hop tracks.

On Sunday from 6-10 pm, the station airs Retroactive (hosted by Darcey McLaughlin) which features four hours of classic hits from the 60s, 70s, 80s, 90s and early 2000s. The Sunday night edition of the show is then re-broadcast the following Saturday evening from 8 pm to 12 am.

gollark: Oh yes, I lied, guess it's fine.
gollark: So it needs to truncate things, but you removed the logic for that for some reason.
