Bim (company)

Birleşik Mağazalar A.Ş (or mostly called BİM) is a Turkish retail company, known for offering a limited range of basic food items and consumer goods at competitive prices. Bim were the pioneers of this discount store model in Turkey.

Bim A.Ş. began in 1995 with 21 stores and by the end of 2015[7] had reached 4972 stores in Turkey, making Bim the country's leading food retailer.[8] Bim does not offer franchises, all stores are owned and operated by the company itself.[9] As well as Turkey there are 475 stores in Morocco[7] and 185 in Egypt.[7] In 2016 Bim A.Ş. planned to open 600 new supermarkets in Turkey, 100 in Egypt and 80 in Morocco[10] where the group expected 2 billions dirhams sales during the same year.[10] In 2005 44.12% of its shares were offered to the public.[11]
