The Wadjuk Noongar people are believed to have first discovered Bedford around 50,000 years ago.
In September 2018, a man named Anthony Robert Harvey was arrested for the murder of a family of five in Bedford. Harvey's case came before the Supreme Court of Western Australia, where he became the first Western Australian in history to be sentenced to life in prison with no chance of release.[2]
