Aviv Regev
Aviv Regev is a computational biologist and Executive Vice President of Genentech Research and Early Development.[3] She was professor at the Broad Institute of MIT and Harvard and at the Department of Biology of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology,[4] as well as investigator at the Howard Hughes Medical Institute.[5]

Education
Regev studied at the Adi Lautman Interdisciplinary Programme for Outstanding Students of Tel Aviv University, where she completed her Ph.D. under the supervision of Eva Jablonka[6] and Ehud Shapiro.[7]
Career and research
Regev is currently the Executive Vice President of Genentech Research and Early Development. She is based in South San Francisco.[8][9]
She served as the Core Institute Member, Chair of the Faculty and Co-director of the Cell Circuits Program at the Broad Institute.
Regev's highly cited[10][11] research includes work on gene expression[12][13] (with Eran Segal and David Botstein), and the use of π-calculus to represent biochemical processes.[14][15][16] Regev’s team has been a leading pioneer of single-cell genomics experimental and computational methods.[17]
Awards and honors
Regev was awarded the Overton Prize in 2008 for "outstanding accomplishment to a scientist in the early to mid stage of his or her career".[1] She was awarded the ISCB Innovator Award in 2017.[2][18] In 2008, she was also awarded the NIH Director's Pioneer Award.[19] She has also been awarded the Burroughs Wellcome Fund Career Award.[20] In 2017, she was awarded a Paul Marks Prize for Cancer Research.[21] She was elected a member of the National Academy of Sciences (NAS) in 2019.[22]
