Atwima Kwanwoma District
The Atwima Kwanwoma[1] is one of the twenty-seven (27) districts in the Ashanti Region of Ghana. Its capital is Twedie. The district is among the new districts and municipalities created in 2008 by the then President, John Kufuor. Former Head of State General Ignatious Kutu Akyeampong hailed from the district and is buried in his home town of Hwidiem, a town in the district. Afia Kobi Girls Senior High School is located at Trabuom. Renamed after the late Asantehemaa Nana Afia Kobi, the school was formerly called Atwimaman Secondary School. It was opened in 1975.
