It was the original base of power for the Yamana clan. Yamana Toyosuke moved their home castle from Konosumiyama Castle in 1576 after his Konosumiyama Castle was defeated by Toyotomi Hideyoshi.[1][2][3]

Current

The castle is now only ruins, with some stone walls and moats.[1][4] In 2017, the castle was listed as one of the Continued Top 100 Japanese Castles.[5]
