Aqeel Hato

Aqeel Hato (Arabic: عقيل هاتو , born 12 February 1963) is a coach and former Iraqi football player, he also played for Al-Minaa.

Fastest consecutive two goals in League

Hato has scored the fastest consecutive two goals in Iraqi league so far, scored both goals in the first minute of the match for Al-Minaa against Al-Zawraa and the goalkeeper was Ahmad Jassim in this match.[1]

And also as a record, he played his first match in Iraqi league beside Al-Minaa against Al-Tijara in 1981–82 season and scored his first goal in the first minute of this match.[1]

Coaching career

Hato is currently working as coach, he has coached several clubs, including Al-Minaa and Naft Al-Janoob. and coached Iraq U16 in the 2005 Arsenal International Championship under-16 in London and won runner-up, and also won the title of best coach in this tournament .[2]

Hato came back to coaching in the Iraqi Premier League in the season 2018-2019. Leading his home club Al-Minaa. Hato led the team with money struggles for 6 months, skilled players left the team. Hato led the team with youth and new players and made not bad results. Hato then left after the bad conditions with the board. The fans appreciated Hato's help and wished him a good luck, still remembering the best game with him against Al-Zawra'a SC when they won 2-1 against the last year's league champion.
