2020 FIG Rhythmic Gymnastics World Cup series
The 2020 FIG World Cup circuit in Rhythmic Gymnastics is a series of competitions officially organized and promoted by the International Gymnastics Federation.[1]
With stopovers in Europe and Asia, the World Cup competitions were originally scheduled for April 3–5 in Pesaro (ITA), April 10–12 in Sofia (BUL), April 17–19 in Tashkent (UZB), April 24–26 in Baku (AZE). World Challenge Cup competitions were scheduled for May 8–10 in Portimão (POR), June 26–28 in Cluj Napoca (ROU), July 3–5 in Minsk (BLR), July 10–12 in Moscow (RUS).[2] Due to the 2020 coronavirus outbreak in Europe, the Pesaro World Cup was originally postponed to June 5–7, and was later rescheduled again due to the postponement of the 2020 Summer Olympics. As of June 2020 all competitions in the series have been postponed as FIG continues to work on finalizing the dates for the competition.
This year's World Cup series also served as qualifications for the 2020 Summer Olympics, with the top 3 ranked gymnasts (max. 1 per NOC), not already qualified at the 2019 Rhythmic Gymnastics World Championships, achieving a quota for their NOC at the individual all-around event.
