1987 Djiboutian general election
General elections were held in Djibouti on 24 April 1987 to elect a President and National Assembly. At the time, the country was a one-party state with the People's Rally for Progress (RPP) as the only legally permitted party. In the presidential election, incumbent president Hassan Gouled Aptidon was the only candidate for the presidency, and was re-elected unopposed.[1] In the National Assembly elections, the RPP presented voters with a single list of 65 candidates for the 65-member National Assembly, which was approved by 87% of voters.[2] Voter turnout for the National Assembly vote was slightly lower at 88.69%.[3]

gollark: What?
gollark: I'm aware of a crossplatform crate to use the system's web view thing, OpenGL-based UI stuff, and I think other stuff?
gollark: I mean, crossplatform networking yes, UI also sort of yes.
gollark: Roughly!
gollark: Oh, that too.
