1986 Tayside Regional Council election

The fourth election to Tayside Regional Council was held on 8 May 1986 as part of the wider 1986 Scottish regional elections. The election saw the Conservatives losing control of the region, with Labour emerging as the single largest force on the 47 seat council. Following the election Labour Party formed a minority administration.[1] Ian Mackie CBE, the chair of the Conservative Group, was defeated in Clepington-Maryfield ward.[1]

Voter turnout was 44.33%.[2]

gollark: I can probably help with optimizing it - while my search thing is horrible on bigger datasets, it works okay on smaller ones!

gollark: I made a search engine (it's still up), but because search is hard it takes something like 60 seconds to return several thousand results.
gollark: No need to be like Windows.
