1978 Norwegian Football Cup
Lillestrøm won the Norwegian Cup by beating Brann 2–1 on 22 October 1978. The goal scorer for Lillestrøm was Vidar Hansen, who scored in the 74th and 76th minute. For Brann, Steinar Aase scored the first goal of the game in the 20th minute.
23,534 spectators attended the match at Ullevaal stadion in Oslo. The referee was Reidar Bjørnestad. This was the second time Lillestrøm won the Norwegian Cup.
