1977 World Snooker Championship

The 1977 World Snooker Championship (also known as the 1977 Embassy World Snooker Championship for the purposes of sponsorship) was a professional ranking snooker tournament that took place between 18 and 30 April 1977 at the Crucible Theatre in Sheffield.

John Spencer won in the final 25–21 against Cliff Thorburn.[2] The event was sponsored by cigarette manufacturer Embassy. Spencer at the age of 41 was the first man to win the title at the Crucible.
