Union of a Thousand Tribes

The Union of a Thousand Tribes, often shortened to the Thousand Tribes, was a federation of Deepwoods clans lead by Kobold the Wise in the Time of Enlightenment.

Slavery and war were outlawed by the Thousand Tribes, and they invented writing.[1]

History

The union was founded by Kobold the Wise, eventually growing to encompass most tribes of the Deepwoods.

Towards the end of Kobold's life around -5000 ᴇ.ʏ., the weather worsened, as the Mother Storm prepared to visit the Edge. Mind storms plagued the tribes, causing chaos and infighting. Representatives of the Thousand Tribes held a meeting with Kobold at Riverrise, where he warned them that the Mother Storm would soon return.

After the storm, the Thousand Tribes broke up, descending into the barbarity of the Second Age of Darkness.[1]

Behind the scenes

The Trident and the Snake symbol is inspired by the Rod of Asclepius, an ancient Greek symbol of healing and medicine. The symbol is made up of a staff entwined by a snake.[2]
