The Ironwood Stands

The Ironwood Stands were a group of ironwood pines located in the Deepwoods very near to the northern Edgelands and roughly half a day’s journey from the Eastern Roost on prowlgrin-back. The pines of the Ironwood Stands reached so high above the forest canopy that their uppermost reaches touched the clouds. Both hammelhorns and hackerbats could be found in the Ironwood Stands.[1]

In the First Age of Flight, the Ironwood Stands were a familiar landmark for sky ships, and in the Second Age of Flight, they became a familiar landmark for skycraft. The participants in the Third Great Migration sheltered in the Ironwood Stands for one night.[1] The first stage of the Battle of Lufwood Mount happened in the Ironwood Stands, resulting in the trees being lit on fire[2].
