Hackerbats

Hackerbats were vicious, bloodsucking creatures found in the Deepwoods. Some lived in the Ironwood Stands. Hackerbats lived in flocks and roosted upside down in trees. They had large, violet eyes and tube-like proboscises[1], and they chattered and chirruped when disturbed or in panic[2].
