Troubleshooting

If you're having trouble with your DeWalt D26451, please take a look at our Troubleshooting Page.

Background

The DeWalt D26451 is a 5-inch sander with a 3 Amp, 12,000 OPM motor. DeWalt discontinued this model, but replacement parts can still be found online.

Its intended purpose is to provide maximum sanding speed for smooth finishes. This sander accepts 5 in., 8-hole hook and loop paper, and sanding discs can be switched back and forth easily. It features an anti-slip top and body grip. This sander also has the "DeWalt Controlled Finishing System" that's intended for controllable pad speed.

Identification

The DeWalt D26451 is much like other sanders of its brand. Most DeWalt sanders are 5 in. and single speed at 12,000 RPM, except for a couple that are capable of various RPMs. According to DeWalt, newer models have improved dust collection and have less vibration during use, which is not the case for the discontinued DeWalt D26451.
