Dead Orb
Dead Orbs are special types of Orbs found in the Graveyard and Haunted Woods that have no effect of their own. Instead, they can be dropped if the player presses the "g" key or clicks the Dead Orb number in the orb list.
Dead Orbs have several uses. The most common use is to mark a trail when attempting to find the key for an Orb of Yendor, the grail in Camelot, or the opening plates needed to complete the Palace Quest. Dead Orbs can also be used to "dig" through the Living Cave and Emerald Mine, swap colors in the Alchemist Lab, or escape Brown Raiders in the Ruined City.
In Orb Strategy mode, a Dead Orb is given every time the player uses an orb from their inventory. Also, an unlimited number of Dead Orbs spawn in the Haunted Woods.
If you play Camelot in Pure Tactics mode, an unlimited amount of Dead Orbs spawn in the spaces between the moat and Round Table.
