Ruined City

The Ruined City is a land with fragments of walls, green hexagons, and gray heptagons. It becomes accessible after a Skeleton is killed in the Palace. All of the monsters in this land cannot be killed directly, though they have limitations:

  • Skeletons, just like in the Palace, cannot be killed directly but are temporarily stunned when hit.
  • Red Raiders always move in pairs, which slows them down somewhat. They can break through walls, and are very dangerous because they occupy two tiles, and can easily trap the player.
  • Gray Raiders never move on heptagons (gray tiles), so it is possible to outrun them in certain directions.
  • Green Raiders always alternate between hexagons (green) and heptagons (gray). This can also slow them down in certain directions.
  • Brown Raiders never step next to an item. The player can exploit this by dropping an item or moving past an item in order to escape.
  • Blue Raiders have a slow attack: their attack lands one turn after they raise their weapon, so the player can use that extra turn to get away. This attack is also very powerful: it can kill some monsters that are otherwise unkillable, such as other Raiders. If another Raider steps into the player's position when the attack lands, they will be killed.
