These creatures go by several other less formal names, including blue bear, flying bear, and oracle bear. They are native to the continents of Holodrum and Labrynna, but even in these regions are quite a rare sight. Unlike a typical bear, a pegursa has mostly blue fur with white accents, and bears a tiny pair of white wings. These wings enable the bear to engage in brief and physically demanding flight for several seconds at a time. Despite its appearance, a typical pegursa can speak the words of men, and is even generally willing to help those in need. It is still a carnivorous predator, but prefers to hunt and feast on unintelligent animals much as most humanoids do.

Although a pegursa can serve as a mount, the fact it is intelligent prevents it from routine sale as a one. Those who use a pegursa's services are expected by society to treat it more akin to a hireling or an ally.
