Gnome (Tiberium Rising Supplement)

Summary
Much like dwarves, gnomes are best known for their work as engineers. However, whereas dwarves dwell on larger structural and architectural creations, gnomes instead gear their efforts towards smaller scale constructions. Even before the advent of Tiberium, they sought to circumvent the use of magic (an art where the finer intricacies never became them) through mundane machinery. Shortly after samples of Brotherhood gunpowder were captured after the First Templar-Nod War, gnomes were the first to reverse engineer the substance and develop a refined variant for the Templar. They were also the first to discover Tiberium-laced water was an ignitable liquid, crucial to the development of many machines and vehicles.
Relations
Gnomes are very closely tied to dwarves, and many suspect the two races were created at the same time. Their similar physical attributes and interests in the mundane rather than the magical have cemented the two races as fast allies, and gnomes are often welcomed into dwarven clans, and vice versa. However, unlike dwarves, gnomes do not share the same distrust of other races, and are accepting of other races. Gnomes often relish the opportunity to receive commissions from other races, and being given the opportunity to test their skill against novel demands. Most gnomes end up living in human cities, for access to materials, space, and work.
Gnomes get along well with humans, and enjoy the curious challenges humans give them. While they rarely work with elves, they do enjoy the chance to incorporate magic into their work and machines. Halflings are accepted, though aren't particularly beloved, since gnomes don't care for intermediates in deals. Orcs are avoided, as all other races do.
Tiberium
Similar to the halflings, gnomes respect and live in awe of the power of Tiberium. In fact, a disproportionate number of gnomes joined the Brotherhood precisely because of their love of the crystal. Many border on fanatical in their devotion to the crystal and it's possibilities in engineering, but almost all agree that it is a valuable and dangerous resource, and ought to be controlled.

- Spell-Like Abilities: 1/day—speak with animals (burrowing mammal only, duration 1 minute). A rock gnome with a Charisma score of at least 10 also has the following spell-like abilities: 1/day—dancing lights, ghost sound, prestidigitation. Caster level 1st; save DC 10 + rock gnome’s Cha modifier + spell level.
