Elves, Snow (3.5e Race)
Personality
Snow Elves tend to be warm and comforting, willing to offer all they have to complete strangers. They are a selfless, humble people, trusting of others and in turn earning others' trust. Their only biases are towards monster races that have plagued them for centuries, such as goblins, orcs, and trolls. Even the Drow are seen as fellow Elves and are gladly and warmly taken in, which has oftentimes led to the manipulation of a Snow Elven city, though forgiveness always tends to follow.
Snow Elves are not, however, to be taken lightly. Once angered, the Snow Elves are capable of calling forth powerful divine magics, and have been known to decimate their enemy without losing a single life of their own.
Physical Description
Snow Elves tend to stand taller and heavier than most of their Elven cousins. Their features reflect closely to the High Elves of which they are closely related, though every feature seems to have been stripped of color. Their hair can range from a pale gray to platinum blonde, though admittedly the most common tone is stark white. Their skin is of a soft, bright hue. Their eyes, however, are vibrant and teeming with color. Common eye colors are blue, amber, and green; however, yellow, amber, violet, and silver are not unheard of. Their ears, strangely, come to a two-forked point.
Snow Elves tend to dress themselves in drab, colorless clothing on day-to-day bases, with little to no jewelry or other adornments. However, on religious holidays, Snow Elves are said to be the most extravagantly dressed of all races in the realms, rivaling even the most haughty of their Elven cousins. On these days, they dress in vibrant reds and blues, trimmed with silver and gold. From their very robes often hang jewels the size of a human eyeball.
Relations
Snow Elves get along nicely with most civilized races, including humans, elves, halflings, and gnomes. They often trade with Dwarves, offering them many basic goods and succulent meats in exchange for their precious metals and gems, making Dwarves and Snow Elves very close friends. However, Snow Elves tend to be very hateful of Orcs, Goblins, Trolls, and other "lesser" beings. Snow Elves get along nicely with Drow, and are noted to be without the racial prejudice often present in other races. Though, should the Drow attack, the Snow Elves are perfectly ready to defend themselves.
Alignment
Most often, Snow Elves are Neutral Good, though other Good-aligned elves, as well as Lawful Neutral and True Neutral are common. Of course, individual Snow Elves may be of any alignment, from Lawful Good to Chaotic Evil.
Lands
Snow Elves live in snowy areas, as their name suggests. This secludes them to the tallest mountain ranges, the furthest northern reaches, and the desolate cold of the far south.
Religion
Most Snow Elves follow Tarsellis Meunniduin as their chief deity, though they venerate all the Seldarine of the Elven Pantheon, including Araushnee, the traditional name for Lolth, goddess of the Drow. In fact, Snow Elves, due to their secluded nature, have long been separated from their Elven cousins, and as such their beliefs follow those of a far more ancient origin. Their pantheon reflects the Elven Pantheon as it was thousands of years ago, before the fall of the Drow and the banishment of Araushnee as Lolth. During this time, Tarsellis Meunniduin had been vying for the Seldarine throne, competing with Corellon Larethian. Tarsellis was far more ancient and powerful than Corellon; however, Corellon appealed to the Elven youth, becoming more and more popular every generation. Thus, the two came to an agreement. Tarsellis would take under his wing the Snow Elves, who remained devout to him, and lead them in any way he saw fit. In return, he would be granted a seat within the Elven Panethon of the Seldarine and would act as an advisor to Corellon over the remainder of the Elven race. Over time, the Snow Elves have also adopted Chronepsis into their pantheon, the dragon goddess of Death and Fate.
