As its name implies, a dark chuchu is visibly distinct from more common chuchus by its dark violet coloration. Any one of them has the unusual ability to resist almost all forms of conventional attack; a blade can cleave it and a hammer can splatter it, but the chuchu instantly reforms as if unaffected by the blow. Petrified by Pure Light. For unknown reasons, when a dark chuchu is struck by pure light, its entire body almost instantly solidifies into a statue-like imitation of itself. This transformation usually only lasts a few seconds, but renders the chuchu defenseless against what forms of attack can still harm it in this state. Dark chuchus seem blissfully unaware that this happens to them, as even though they live in dark areas, they can easily be lured into open sunlight with the most unremarkable of bait. Unable to Fuse. Unlike most chuchus, a dark chuchu is unable to fuse with other chuchus—even other dark varieties like itself. Chu Nature. The dark chuchu doesn't require air or sleep. |
