Source Zols appear as amorphous blobs of slime about three feet tall, usually of a dark color, with a pair of oddly mammalian eyes that glow faintly in darkness. As with many oozes, they live primarily underground, in caverns, or in ruins. They primarily survive by devouring insects, bacteria, worms, and other tiny creatures. Particularly aggressive zols may target larger creatures, but can only do so by recklessly slamming their acidic bodies into would-be prey, which is rarely an effective tactic for them. Chu Nature. The zol does not require air or sleep. Source Variant: Tough ZolSome zols are particularly resilient and aggressive, but are otherwise identical to normal zols. This variant is of Medium size, has a Constitution score of 16, and has two more Hit Dice. This increases its hit points to 38. This variant's slam attack improves as follows: A tough zol has a Challenge Rating of 1 (100 XP). |
