Super Adventure Island was released on SNES in 1992. This is what the in-game music sounds like. Let me just repeat that: this is a game that was released in 1992. If the Streets of Rage examples didn't prove that Yuzo Koshiro is a genius, this should.
The Wangan Midnight Maximum Tune soundtracks as a whole, produced by Yuzo Koshiro. This troper, who had played Wangan Midnight R, a game with a more orchestral soundtrack (also by Yuzo Koshiro), before coming to Maximum Tune, was absolutely blown away by "Maximum Acceleration" when he first heard it in Maximum Tune 's first stage.
- "Get You Cornered" from Maximum Tune 3 can make many a racer shiver in fear the first time it's heard.
  - Not to mention the Blackbird's theme from the first game, "Destination Blackout".

- And this remix of it, which turns it into Crowning Music of Creepy that would not sound out of place in Castlevania.
  - Funny you should mention that... It just so happens he wrote the best clock tower theme in the series.

- Really, everything from Actraiser belongs here. Some of the better examples:
  - Northwall Tree, which is how you know you're in the Very Definitely Final Level.
  - Sacrifices, which is so calming that the player uses it as an item in the game itself to stop a civil war.
  - And the suitably epic final boss music, for your battle with ~~Satan~~ Tanzra.
