Yuzo Koshiro
Old-school video game music genius.
Gushing aside, Mr.Koshiro is most famous for his 16-bit scores for Ys, Shinobi and most famously Streets of Rage, especially later two when Y.K. pushed the limits of the Mega Drive. More recently, he worked with Michiru Yamane on the score for Castlevania: Portrait of Ruin.
While quite able to write good music in many styles (Symphonic music of ActRaiser for example), his main style is what can be described as a fusion of club, Eurobeat and Techno music with the old-school flavour.
While his style of music was very popular in video games during the late 80s to 90s, Y.K's old-school style is no longer that popular in mainstream gaming today.
