    As adapted from a mystery Light Novel: 26 years ago, in a third-year classroom of a middle school, there was a student named Misaki. As an honors student who was also good at sports, the charming girl was popular with her classmates. When she suddenly died, her classmates decided to carry on as if she was still alive until graduation. Then, in the spring of 1998, a boy named Koichi Sakakibara transfers to that classroom, and he grows suspicious of the fearful atmosphere in that classroom. In particular, there is a beautiful, aloof girl named Misaki Mei who wears an eyepatch and is always alone drawing pictures.

    Bodacious Space Pirates
    Airing from the 7th of January for 26 episodes

    This Light Novel-based story is about a spirited high school girl named Marika, who inherits a pirate spaceship from her dead father.

    Brave 10
    Airing from the 7th of January for 12 episodes

    The story reimagines the legendary adventures of the 10 brave warriors assembled by the warlord Sanada Yukimura in the year 1600, in the middle of Japan's tumultuous Sengoku (Warring States) era.

    Daily Lives of High School Boys
    Airing from the 9th of January

    A Slice of Life series about Exactly What It Says on the Tin, from studio Sunrise, with the Director of Gintama.

    Gokujyo - (Top Girls)
    Airing from the 23rd of January as 5-minute episodes.

    Kuribayashi Minami returns to Japan after a long stay in Los Angeles. She enters an upper-class girl's high school "Gokurakuin Jyoshi High School", so called "Gokujyo". She tries to dominate the school with her beauty but her plan is spoiled by the silly and perverted behaviors of her eccentric classmates.

    The first episode, intended to be shown on January 16, was reportedly taken down before its broadcast on Japanese TV. It was streamed online on January 30.

    The story follows Issei Hyoudou, a dim-witted, lecherous second-year high school student who is killed by a girl on his first date ever. Issei is reincarnated as a devil, and from that day forward, he serves as an underling of Riasu, a high-level devil who is also the prettiest girl on Issei's campus.

    Riricho Shirakiin, who has a complex about being unable to live independently and unprotected, feels the need to move out and live on her own under the condition of residing in a certain mansion. Only those who have cleared a very strict examination could reside in this mansion, and they are accompanied with one agent of the Secret Service (S.S.). Although Riricho has rejected the company of the S.S., while residing in the mansion she finds out that the agent dedicated to protecting her is actually the Fox Spirit whom she previously rescued.

    The sequel to the popular tennis manga, now in anime form.

    Nisemonogatari
    Airing from the 7th of January for 11 episodes

    The sequel to Bakemonogatari. A swindler who once tricked Hitagi arrives in town, spreading the curse which afflicted Nadeko in the first series. Koyomi's sisters, Karen and Tsukihi, start working to capture this swindler, but things get complicated along the way.

    Papa no Iukoto o Kikinasai - (Listen to Me Girls, I Am Your Father )
    Airing from the 10th of January

    Segawa Yuta is a freshman of a university. He lost his parents when he was small and was raised by his sister Yuri. Yuta has been living alone since Yuri got married to a middle aged man when Yuta was a junior high student. One day, Yuri visited Yuta's apartment and asked him to take care of her three daughters while Yuri and her husband were on a trip. He unwillingly accepted the job but the plane Yuri took went missing. In order to prevent the daughters from being adopted separately by the relatives, Yuta decided to take in all the three girls. A life of a strange family in a tiny apartment begins. (The elder two of the daughters are stepchildren of Yuri's husband. The smallest one is Yuri's child.)

    A story based on a yonkoma manga, about an 11-year-old that looks 17 is taken care of by his 17-year-old sister, who looks 11.

    Rinne no Lagrange: Flower Declaration of Your Heart
    Airing from the 8th of January, for 12 episodes

    An Anime First series dealing with three girls using Humongous Mecha to fight off alien invaders. Looks to be somewhat Slice of Life in-between fight scenes.

    Senki Zesshou Symphogear
    Airing from the 6th of January, for 13 episodes

    An original anime, that tells the story of two girls in a top vocal unit named Zweiwing who fight to save humanity against a threat known as "Noise."

    Smile Pretty Cure
    Airing from the 5th of February

    The 9th anime entry to the Pretty Cure Magical Girl series.

    Tantei Opera Milky Holmes Dai-Ni-Maku
    Airing from the 5th of January for 12 episodes

    Second season of the detective-based Magical Girl series.

    Thermae Romae
    Airing from January 12 for 3 episodes

    This manga adaptation is a comedy about Lucius, an architect of public bath houses in ancient Rome, who time-travels to various modern-day baths in Japan. The author explores the two cultures in the world "that have loved baths the most: the Japanese and the Romans."
