Up (animation)/Trivia
- Author Existence Failure: For Latin American viewers, this movie could be hard to watch if you know that Carl's Mexican voice actor (Tito Resendiz) died a few months later after dubbing this movie to Spanish.
- Easter Egg: On the main menu of the UK Blu-ray (and possibly on other releases), pressing the Left arrow on your remote control reveals "The Egg," a short piece in which the film makers discuss the abandoned plans to make Kevin's eggs into the elixir of youth.
- Hey, It's That Voice!
- With Ed Asner playing Carl Fredricksen (and for once not Ed Asner), some people have been calling Up "Cosgrove: The Movie"
- Bob Peterson, who voices Dug and Alpha, also voiced Roz and Mr. Ray from Monsters, Inc. and Finding Nemo, respectively. He's also the co-director of Up, and has written for several Pixar films.
- You may also recognize the Newsreel announcer as the one from commercial for Enzyte. Also known as a certain Megatron, yeeeeeeeesss.
- Kevin's babies are voiced by Frank Welker.
- Watch the French dub. Singer Charles Aznavour is Carl.
- Throw It In: The "That's not gonna work" gag started out as a joke ending to an early version of a scene, where Carl really did try to get Russel out of the house on a rope. They kept it.
- What Could Have Been
- Initially Carl would make a balloon animal of Kevin to lure Muntz into its labyrinth home, then abandon him there. This piece of Alas, Poor Villain High Octane Nightmare Fuel was done away with due to Pete Docter feeling that it made the ending more about Muntz than Carl and Ellie.
- Other endings were considered, including one where he was redeemed after talking to Carl; one where he got his foot tangled in the balloons and was pulled up into the air; and one where he ran into the house to grab what he thought was Kevin (actually just another balloon) and was followed by his dogs, their combined weight causing the house to fall.
